Aenon's journal day 1

I arrived at the barracks with Ignis, and of course the first thing she did was set something on fire. I know I should be used to it by now traveling with her for this long, but I always fear that she's going to wind up burning something she shouldn't. Oh well, I suppose I'll just keep an eye on her and use my water as I need it. I just hope the Paladin we met doesn't hold to much of a grudge with her, though maybe Ignis's saving us during the mimic fight helped her reputation. I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, we were tasked by the guard captain to help a rancher with his overran farm. Apparently some orcs were attacking it, though we didn't see any. We went the wrong way, and found the church. That's where the mimic was and we were almost goners if it weren't for the fire and tasty buns supplied by Ms Chow. Fire can be good for some things, I guess. We managed to follow some cow tracks back to the ranch (the exact opposite of the way we went, mind you) with no orcs to be seen. With how we handled the mimic, maybe that was for the best.
